Rally on the River Raisin is excited to close out our amazing fun-filled day with Here Come the Mummies!!!!
Here Come the Mummies is an eight-piece funk-rock band of 5000 year-old Egyptian Mummies with a one-track mind. Their "Terrifying Funk from Beyond the Grave" is sure to get you into them (and possibly vice versa).
Since their discovery, HCTM has opened for P-Funk, Al Green, and Cheap Trick; rocked Super Bowl Village; became a regular on The Bob and Tom Show; played massive festivals like Summer Camp, Common Ground, Voodoo Fest, Musikfest, Summerfest, and Riverbend; and sold tickets by the thousands across large swaths of North America. Maybe thats why the ladies (and some dudes) cant stop losing their minds over these mayhem-inducing mavens of mirth.
Rally on the River Raisin kicks off with a Jeep parade at 11 a.m. downtown Monroe with VFW riders, and concludes with a fireworks display in the Park at dusk. The Park will feature live historical reenactments from candlemakers, storytellers, and fur traders as well as military and historical weapons demonstrations and kids activities throughout the day.
Proceeds from the Rally on the River event go to the growth and development of the Park as well as RRNBFs youth outreach programs, which includes school field trip scholarships and kayaking expeditions for underprivileged youth. Last year RRNBF provided 10,000 field trips and 1.200 kayaking trips for youth throughout southeastern Michigan.
